Westside Sporting Goods, at 9681 Highway 50, 808-338-1411, Waimea, rents surfboards and bodyboards for $15 a day. They’re open Monday-Friday 9 am-6 pm. The store is open from 9-5 on Saturdays.

If you’re an experienced surfer, you might want to try your hand at Infinities. Remember you’re the guest here so act accordingly. No dropping in on other people’s waves or cutting people off. Show respect for the local surfers. If you don’t know what I mean by this, you shouldn’t go to Infinities. You can find it by driving west on Kaumuali`i Hwy. You’ll see the surfboards and the trucks parked along the road. Follow the path to the beach. Other than that, there are very limited opportunities around Salt Pond Beach Park, but that’s more appropriate for boogie boarding.
