Ni`ihau Helicopter,
808-338-1234, 877-441-3500, www.niihau.us,
which is owned by the Robinson family, takes you on a three-hour tour
of Ni`ihau, which the family owns. You’ll fly on an Agusta 109A
twin-engine helicopter over and around the island. You then land on the
beach where you spend some time snorkeling, swimming, and having a picnic
lunch. $325 per person.
Inter-Island Helicopters,
808-335-5009, www.interislandhelicopters.com.
Here’s an adventure that you won’t forget. Hop in Interisland’s
Hughes 500. They fly with the doors off, which makes for excellent photo
opportunities. They also offer a two-way communications system in the
plane so you can ask the pilot questions during your flight. There are
two tours. The first is 50 minutes around Waimea Canyon, Na Pali, and
the north shore. This tour is $189. There’s another tour where they
also do a waterfall landing, weather permitting, and give you time to
swim in a freshwater pool, so bring your swimsuit. This tour is two hours
long and costs $280 per person.
